I agree totally with wood having a lot to do with tone and the different types of wood for different parts of the guitar. How anyone could think otherwise!?

Especially since the increase aligns with the world coming out of a little ice age that ended in the s. During this little ice age the atmosphere had the bare minimum of CO2 required for life on earth to exist and thrive. Your just gonna call me names and talk smack im sure.
Sounds like maybe the climate is changing at an unnatural rate and causing your rash and many changes to the environment which has devastating effects on wildlife and causes the rash you are suffering from. If you are correct , the emotional tilt combined with your unwarranted personal attack does nothing for your cause but illustrate individual ignorance.

This may be a total conspiracy theory but what if Fender was a for-profit company?!?! Lumber is a commodity… labor, production and distribution are costs. A guitars tone starts with what the body is made of…this is serious. Ur article on swamp ash and fender is probly somewhat visionary woods of all kinds and every other natural resource on.
Earth is already being toward extinction we would do well take lesson from easter island start to grok true meaning of balance and harmony of nature. God already gave us and finally understand real problem. In fact one of my 'mentors' insists that wood has absolutely no effect on the sound of the guitar, but I have played guitars with the same pickups and different woods that sounded completely different.
My American Strat with a one piece swamp ash body was extremely bright but I've played other Am Stds that had other woods namely alder with supposedly the same pickups that weren't as bright. Still scratching my head over this one, SandMan. Good Point. I think we're on the same page. Messages: 1, I just looked up the definition of [tone] I at first thought the word wasnt in my websters new compact format dictionary.
I then realized websters misspelled tone in a dictionary! I guess technology realy has made correct spelling a thing of the past. Wood can most definitely have tone. From what I've read on definitions of tone and from musicians wether it be piano, guitar, and winds.. They all have tone. Wood most certainly has tone. What bothers me are the few percussionists I've heard saying one hi hat has more tone than the other : : : :.
RockerXDX , Dec 10, Age: 31 Messages: 2, Wood most certainly has tone, it also most certainly will affect the resonant frequencies of a guitar. Now the wood does resonate no matter what crap you've heard but the perceived "tone" you hear is from the wood actually vibrating and deadening the vibration of the string.
This is why guitars sound different. Wood has resonant properties so even different pieces of the same species will react differently to the same frequencies even if harvested from the same tree. I feel like woods that have a "skeleton" with hard grain and soft grain in between with pores in it will sound best, at least in my limited understanding, I could be wrong.
Now you could make a guitar out of an extremely dense material like marble with a marble neck etc.. I'm a snob, to me a Stratocaster should be one piece body and one piece neck, but again there's no reason behind this other than a mental thing I have.
Apparently I like ash if you couldn't tell Now that said Ash is the best and I don't care what anyone says!!!! It's up to you to get the sounds" Y.
